  12. I'm beginning to wonder if the wait for CyberStorm is even worth it.

  14. MacroSystems has been producing a very reliable and efficient accelerator,
  15. the Warp Engine, for some time now, and it offers most of the same advantages
  16. that the CyberStorm does.  The main difference between the two is that the
  17. Warp Engine is an '040 board that only *promises* to be upgradable to a full
  18. '060 board, but actually does exist as a buyable product, while the CyberStorm
  19. *promises* to be a buyable product, but was actually once a full '060 board
  20. during the time it was still on the market.  I'm in a quandry.

  22. Should I buy a Warp Engine now?  Should I wait for a CyberStorm '060 board
  23. that, when released, may have to go through many board revisions before it's
  24. a trustable, stable accelerator, assuming Phase-5 even bothers to *try* to
  25. fully debug the board at all?  The CyberVision graphics card, for all its
  26. 64-bit performance, is still not as fully integrated into the existing Amiga
  27. OS and applications as Picasso is to this day, and many CyberVision users
  28. report Enforcer hits for which Phase-5's support people who are supposed to
  29. be correcting and debugging such problems seem to not care a bit about.  With
  30. this sort of "support", I really wonder if I'd be better off not getting it.

  32. What do you think?  Should I wait for the CyberStorm and see what comes of
  33. it?  Does anyone know if anything will be coming of the Warp Engine's '060
  34. upgradability option?  (The Warp Engine '060 question is the main reason I
  35. wrote this post, so if anyone has any information on that, please reply.)
